Ellerman Villa is located in upper Kloof Street that snakes above and along the Atlantic Seaboard. Both the main hotel and the villa capture the best of Cape Town’s scenery, whether it’s the dazzling pink hues of a sunrise or sunset or streaks of moonlight playfully illuminating the ocean at night. The villa offers exceptional ocean and city views.

Bantry Bay is an exclusive and conveniently located enclave situated along the Atlantic Seaboard halfway between the city centre and Camps Bay beaches. The Villa has a distinctly contemporary modern design and architecture, Strong Balinese and island design elements are noticeable throughout, from the sliding glass walls, wrap-around wooden deck with built-in pebbled ponds, to its roof. Almost every room tries to get absorb as much sunlight as possible. Little design gems like metal bamboo rods running up from the floor to through the ceiling next to the elevator and stair case and wonderfully diverse art scattered throughout the villa are almost missed due to the impact of the outside views and furniture.

DINING AND BAR

All meals are prepared by the villa chef according to guests’ preferences. Any culinary request can be made and will be fulfilled if possible. Guests are also welcome to use the ultra-modern kitchen if they feel like cooking. Ellerman House next door has a restaurant and bar open to Villa guests if they feel so inclined.

VARIETY OF ROOMS

Ellerman Villa must be rented as a whole. It has 3 main bedrooms on the top level, named the lilac, yellow and aqua room, as well as a ladies study that can be converted to a “nanny’s room”(children under six must be escorted by a nanny). The lower level is open to Ellerman House guests but almost never visited when the top level is occupied.  The lower level hosts the spa treatment rooms and an additional two rooms that can be converted into bedrooms. The Villa becomes exclusive  for villa guests only if all five rooms are rented.

Aqua Room: The master bedroom is spacious, very minimalistic, with a large, separate bathroom with private outside shower. The front and right wall of the room consists of sliding glass doors, with breathtaking Atlantic and city vistas. The doors open to a wrap-around wooden deck balcony with frameless glass fencing. Lie on the bed and you drink in the views of the Atlantic, which feels incredibly near and within touching distance. The whole room has been designed for the best possible view, and is delicately furnished despite a striking large artwork.

Lilac Room:  to the right of the Aqua Room. It has a spacious king-size bed and gorgeous colour scheme. The front facing wall has sliding glass doors with ocean views and large windows offering city views to the right. Right outside are day chairs that offer a wonderfully tranquil respite from everyone else. Exit the room and enter the bathroom by way of a walk-in closet. The bathroom has an exquisite Eastern inspired façade with intricate carving with separate shower and a bath with a skylight.

Yellow room: This is the smallest room, with adjoined twin beds and a large that window offers a minimal sea view but some lovely green scenery towards Camps Bay.
